The second product in the Glenfiddich Experimental range is their Project XX expression,
It is made not by one malt master, but by 20 malt masters!
Twenty malt masters were invited to the Glenfiddich distillery and invited to select any expression of whiskey from the thousands of casks maturing in the warehouse. Malt Master Brian Kinsman then blends a selection of 20 whiskeys together to create the single malt you see before your eyes. Long live teamwork!
~Wine Tasting Notes~
Nose: Smells a bit animalistic, with lots of woody spiciness, toffee and orange peel. Apparently there's some serious barrel action going on here.
Palate: Lots of wood, cinnamon and vanilla with pungent wood tannins, all wrapped up in some sweet fudge.
The finish is long and layered, with lingering aromas of espresso and dark chocolate.
